Nails : brown and gold

I randomly found this Essie glitter polish on sale and thought it was really cute. This is not a very summery manicure, more like a christmas one I think, but I had to try it out and I think it turned out quite nice.
As you probably know, I really like making the ombre tip manicure, specially with glitter nail polishes, they are easy to do but look really pretty.

For my base color i used O.P.I. 'Chocolate Moose' and the glitter polish is Essie 'Summit of Style'

Nails : Ruffian Manicure

This monday's manicure is this ruffian one. I combined a white and light grey color to make this super quick and easy manicure that really makes the nails look a lot more interesting.
Even though it's a white and grey combination I still think the combination is very summery and appropriate for this time off the year.

Thank you for reading and have a great monday!

Nails : meet me at dusk

I've had this nail polish for a couple of months but completely forgotten to share it with you.
As something pretty new The Body Shop have started making nail polishes, the price is pretty good and the color range is really nice.
I only have this one color, for now, but I really like it a lot!

The brush is the pretty wide one that I love, so it's really easy to apply, the nail polish is completely opaque in two coats and it lasts well on my nails.

This color is a beautiful neutral medium caramel brown, it's actually quite hard to explain, but it's a beautiful everyday color that will go perfectly with anything.

So I would definitely recommend taking a stroll into you local The Body Shop store or counter to have a closer look, there are some really nice summery shades as well.

Thank you for reading and have a great day!

Nails : nails inc x Victoria Beckham nail polish swatches

Like I mentioned in my blog post here I wanted to show these nail polishes in action, so here you go.
The brush on these nail polishes is the widest brush I've tried on a nail polish, at first I was a bit sceptic and thought it would make application difficult, but as I've used these a couple of times I find that it actually helps apply nail polish a lot quicker and easier than with other brushes, so I was pleasantly surprised with the brush size.
Also I find that these are the nail polishes that have lasted the longest on my nails compared to all other brands and formulas I've tried before, so just that gives them a big thumbs up from me.

Nails Inc x Victoria Beckham 'Bamboo White' - This is a beautiful pale pink nude nail polish. It goes on quite opaque after two coats which is really nice for such a light color like this one. But you can build the color up and wear three coats if you like. I can see this being a wearable every day nail polish for me all year round.

Nails Inc x Victoria Beckham 'Judo Red' - This one is the perfect orangey red nail polish for summer. Off course you can rock a red like this all year, but I especially like the orangey red colors for spring and summer, so I know that I will definitely get a lot of use out of this one in the next few months. This one is quite opaque after the first coat, but just out of habit I always like to put two coats on.

I absolutely love these nail polishes and even though they are quite expensive, if you can pick them up in a sale, I definitely think they are worth it!

Thank you for reading and have a great day!

Nails : nails inc x Victoria Beckham

Last week the kind postman brought me these two beauties.
I've been eyeing them ever since they came out and when feelunique were having 15% off everything, I thought to myself that there would be no better time than this to pick them up.

I love the packaging on these they look really sleek and elegant and I like that you can see the colors on the side of the bottle. The colors are really nice as well and perfect for the summer, especially the orange/red one.

I will show you both nail polishes in action very soon!

Thank you for reading and have a great day!

Nails : caviar and pearls

I saw a manicure similar to this on Instagram a couple of days ago and I just thought it looked so cute and simple at the same time, that I wanted to recreate it but put my own twist to it.

For a base color I used O.P.I. 'Samoan Sand' one of my all time favorite nude polishes, it only takes two coats to be completely opaque and is a great nude for my skin tone.

Then I used the nail art pearls from ebay that I've mentioned here and Ciaté Caviar Metallic Pearls in 'Silver' that I got in my mini mani christmas calendar two years ago.

This manicure was quick and easy to do, as I only did my ring fingers differently, and I think it looks really cute. You could also do all nails the same way or only do the ring finger. The choice is yours have fun with it!

For picking up the pearls and placing them exactly on the right spot I used my Nail Art Wax Pencils that are an absolute must if you want to get into decorating your nails. They are super affordable and I highly recommend them! They have made my life so much easier and made nail art much more fun and easy to do.

Nails : gold stripes

A couple of weeks ago I talked about these nail art stickers in silver, in this blog post here, and as I mentioned I had also purchased them in gold, so I wanted quickly to show you what they look like.

This time I made a more simple manicure and for base color I used Nails Inc 'St. James Park' which is a bright coral that looks really summery and fresh together with the gold stripes. A perfect manicure for the summer.

These stickers are super affordable and you get a lot of product, so they will last you a really really long time.

Nails : gold dots

I've seen these dotted manicures all over Instagram lately and thought they were really cute.
Last christmas I had the Ciaté Mini Mani Christmas Calendar and got different colors of the Caviar pearls, so I decided to give this a try myself.
It's a lot easier to do than I thought, the manicure looks retro and cool, but it doesn't take a long time to do at all.

For my base color I'm wearing O.P.I. 'Fly' nail polish and the pearls I used are the Ciaté Caviar Pearls 'Metallic Gold'

To get the caviar pearls on my nails I used one of these Wax Pencils to pick them up and place them exactly where I wanted them. These are really life savers when doing nail art, so I highly recommend them!

Nails : metallic stripes

Lately I've been seeing manicures with thin metallic nail stripes everywhere and I always wondered where I could find them. I think they look really nice and make any manicure look a lot more chic and special with just a thin metallic stripe.

So I finally found them on ebay, you get three rolls of these metallic stickers, so they will last you a long time and they are super affordable.

I also got them in gold, but haven't received them yet. But as soon as I got these silver ones I had to try them on. It takes a bit off practise, but it's actually quite easy and fun.

For this look I made a different design on almost all the nails, but I just really wanted to try some different designs out too see what I liked.

I used a matte white nail polish as a base for the pictures, but I definitely recommend that you put a top coat on so the stickers don't fall right off.

Thank you for reading, I hope this gave you some inspiration and have a great day! xo

Nails : frosty tips

I've already mentioned my love for the ombre tip manicure here, and as I mentioned it's an easy way to make your manicure a lot more festive while it's pretty quick and easy to do.

For this manicure I used O.P.I. 'Samoan Sand' my all time favorite nude, for the silver tips I used Ciaté 'Fit for a Queen' and for an extra sparkle on the tops I used O.P.I. 'Pirouette My Whistle'. The camera is not picking the extra sparkliness up very well unfortunately. But I'm telling you, they are a lot more sparkly and pretty in real life ;)

2014 Makeup Empties : nails

I'm starting my empties series off with nail polish. These are the nail polishes I used up in 2014, and I want to tell you what I thought off them and if I would repurchase.

O.P.I. Nail Envy Dry and Brittle nails base coat - I don't think this base coat helps my brittle nails, but it's a good base coat. It's quite expensive if you buy it in store, so I don't think I will be repurchasing this one.

Ciaté Speed Top Coat - Not the best top coat I've tried and did not dry my nail polish as fast as Seche Vite, so will not repurchase.

Ciaté Underwear Base Coat - Again a good base coat, but it didn't help at all with my brittle nails. So would probably not repurchase this one either.

L'Oréal Top Coat Matte - This is the best matte top coat I've found so far. The nails get really matte and it lasts long as well. Would definitely repurchase.

2 x Seche Vita Dry Fast Top Coat - I've gone trough two of these and am on my third bottle. This is the best top coat I've tried so far. Nail polish dries super quick and it gives nails a glossy finish. You can find this one for a really good price on ebay. I will continue repurchasing this one.

Ciaté 'Amazing Gracie' - This is my favorite pink nail polish ever. This one is a small bottle that I got in my christmas calendar last year. I've already repurchased this one.

Make Up Store 'William' - I couldn't find a link, so I don't know if it's discontinued. I really liked this color, but don't like the formula too much. I have another nail polish in the same color, so I won't repurchase this one.

Make Up Store 'Petra' - Again don't like the formula too much and it wasn't as dark of a red as I wanted it to be. So won't repurchase this one either.

This was the first round of empties, I hope you enjoyed. And have a great day! xo

Nails : rose gold tips

An easy way to make your manicure look more festive and professional while not having to spend a lot of money or use a lot of time doing your nails is to make the ombre tip.

As a base color I have one of my favorite fall/winter nail polish colors O.P.I. 'Honk If You Love OPI' here or here. And for the ombre tips I used my Ciaté 'Antique Brooch'.

You just start off with a little amount on your brush and paint 2/3 of your nail with a thin layer, then you paint 1/3 of your nail with a little more nail polish on the brush and then you just make sure to get the tips opaque with color.

It's really easy and quick to do and makes your nails look like you had them professionally done! ;)

Thank you for reading and have a merry christmas! xo

Nails : black acrylic gems

Lately I've been talking so much about my acrylic nail pearls that I've completely forgotten these Black Acrylic Gems that I bought several months ago. They come in a wheel with a lot of different black gems and are so cheap!

I don't really know how to explain the shape of the ones I'm wearing on the pictures, it's like a tear drop, but it comes to a point on each end. I've also worn the tear drop ones and they look really nice as well.
There are also hearts, bow, squares and other shapes. So you can make endless combination and many cool looks with it.

The base color I'm wearing is Ciaté 'Play Date' here and here.

Nails : black and white

Ever since buying the little nail art wheel with pearls that I talked about here I've been doing different designs using them almost all the time.

This time I did a monochrome look, with a black base, small pearls and white on top. I like the simple look of it, but it's still interesting.

Have a great day! xo

Nails : rose gold

I've found the perfect nail polish for the holidays, and this is especially great for all rose gold lovers out there.
I've been eyeing this glittery rose gold goodness of a nail polish for quite some time, and finally decided to pick it up now the holidays are right around the corner.
This nail polish has a lot of tiny gold shimmer through it and also larger specks of rose gold glitter. It's quite opaque, but I chose to layer it over a light peach nail polish with some gold shimmer and the combination is beautiful!

Base color: Ciaté 'Ivory Queen' here and here
Top coat: Ciaté 'Antique Brooch' herehere or here

The photos are not doing the nail polish any justice it's a lot more sparkly and beautiful in reality!

Thank you for reading and have a great day. xo

Nails : romantic and pearls

I've talked about this glittery nail polish from O.P.I. before it's a beautiful silver glitter polish with large and small specks off glitter, perfect for holiday manicures for christmas.
I mentioned the exact same combo in my Romantic Nails blog post, but this time I paired it with the manicure pearls I mentioned in my last blogpost.

This is a really pretty combination, very soft and romantic with the pearls.

Pearly nails

A couple of months ago I went on a nail accessories kick on ebay. There are so many fun gems, pearls, stickers and other things for nails and they are all so affordable.

As you saw in my nail post HERE I had bought some fun nail stickers for movember, but I had also purchased the pearls I'm showing you today.

They come in a wheel with three different sized pearls so you can do different patterns on the nails with them. They are beautiful and really easy to work with.

To put them on the nails I bought THESE wax gem pencils that help you get a more precise application on the nails. As my hands are pretty shaky when working with stuff like this these pencils came in really handy and were a big help!

For my base color I used one of my all time favorite nail polishes O.P.I. 'Don't Bossa Nova Me Around'

Galaxy Nails

This nail polish combo is one I've been wearing a lot lately, I just love the galaxy look of it every time I look at my nails.
It is a combo of two nail polishes, the first one is the e.l.f. 'Metal Madness' nail polish, which I don't know if they're continuing but it's in their last chance to buy section. This is a beautiful dark grey with tiny specks of silver, blue, green shimmers to it. The only reason I keep this nail polish is for it's beautiful color, the formula is terrible, it's really thick and makes it hard to apply nicely, now this is the only one I've tried from e.l.f. so the other colors might be better.
And on top I have the h&m 'Jo is in the House' nail polish that I also mentioned here. I can't find it online, but have seen it not to long ago in stores.

I really like the combination of these two!

Thank you for reading and have a great day. xo

Movember Nails

November is the month of mustaches unfortunately us girls can't really participate in that. But I have good news for you! I found these really fun nail stickers from Ebay, and they are super affordable as well.
One pack contains five of each mustache so if you want to put the same one on every finger you might have to buy two packs, which I did, so the one you see on the picture is the one I haven't opened yet.

I think this is a fun and different manicure to try out in movember or anytime if you feel like it.
The nail polish I'm wearing is Ciaté 'Amazing Gracie' here or here and you can probably find it in Sephora or Magasin as well.

Thank you for reading and have a great day! xo

Snow Flake Nails

Ciaté 'Snow Globe' here and here

Recently I've been pairing this top coat with a lot of my regular nail polishes, the "snow flakes" give a nice effect to the manicure and the color of the flakes vary depending on the color you choose to have underneath. I think it's a fun and easy way to make the normal cream nail polishes a bit more interesting.

Here I'm wearing a dark grey nail polish as a base and it gives the flakes a blue/green iridescence.
